The Homestead Crater is a 55-foot tall beehive shaped dome. Inside this hollow dome is a 65 foot deep nature pool that is filled from the many springs bubbling up from the bottom. These springs flow at a rate of 90 gallons per minute. Visitors can go swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling or enjoy a therapeutic soak. The water temperature is a comfortable 90 to 95 degrees year round. Before you enter the Crater be sure to take the time to climb the 78 steps to the top of the dome. Once at the top you will be 55 feet above the water surface providing a aerial view of the pool and the surrounding Homestead Property. Free tours are available for those that just want to view this unique natural wonder. If you plan on taking a soak be sure to call ahead as reservations are required.
